A mesmerizing sight ,a murmuration is the formation of flocks of starlings flying together for protection and warmth, named for the low murmur of the the sound of their beating wings. There is a hypnotic rhythm to a murmuration, akin to the meditative process that occurs with a good day drawing in the studio.
